Where Am I?
Where do you go to find award winning restaurants, beautiful parks with city views, and Patrick Henry’s ghost? In the historic neighborhood of Church Hill in the east end of Richmond, that’s where!
Take a stroll down cobblestoned streets and explore the very walkable neighborhood. You’ll be hard pressed not to engage with the neighbors and passerby. From St. John’s Church to the largest Civil War Hospital, Church Hill is center to some of history’s most significant events.
There are a few nearby parks that have breathtaking views of our city and noteworthy restaurants are sprinkled throughout the neighborhood. You’ll see lots of rowhomes, Greek Revival and Federal architecture, and even some more modern installations lining it’s streets. It is home to the annual Irish Festival, the Candlelight walk, many ghost tours, and holiday historic home tours and open houses.
It’s pretty peaceful, and most of its denizens feel the comforts of staying put. Kids love running around the parks and in winter you’ll see them sledding down the hills of Libby Hill Park. A great place to stroll or bike about. An incredibly dog and kid friendly environment.
